THE PIGEON AND THE EAGLE
In the beginning there was only darkness. It seemed to be endless with no light at the end of it. In the center of the darkness was two big clouds of debris. The center of each debris cloud had an egg in them. One of the eggs was red while the other was gold. Around an unknown time the eggs began to crack.
The cracking of the eggs made a rumble as the clouds of debris were colliding and started to form what is now earth. As the eggs were getting cracked out came a bird from each egg. A pigeon came out of the red egg while an eagle was born from the golden egg. They both were very confused as they looked around at the world. They both noticed they each had a seed the same color as they egg they hatched from. The Earth was divided into two sides where the side the pigeon was on was very dark and humid. The side the eagle was on was sunny and fresh. As soon as the eagle was done looking around he found a spot where he could bury the seed. The pigeon from a distance for the first time saw the eagle and confronted him. “You there! You are the only other creature I have seen since my birth, have you seen anything else?” said the pigeon. The eagle was shocked as he thought he was the only creature alive. “No I haven’t. You are the very first thing I have seen besides this seed.” Said the eagle as he began to scratch the soil and bury the seed. “You also have a seed? I have not yet planted mine. Now that I know I will find another spot to bury it instead of here.” The pigeon flew away as the eagle looked confused. A month went by and the eagle began to see results in his plant. A stem began growing. The sunshine of his side of the world was helping the plant. The pigeon’s plant however wasn’t even sprouting. He was very angry and he saw the eagle’s plant was already growing. “Stupid seed. Stupid eagle. I did everything right I planted it and watered it. Why is that stupid eagle’s plant growing?” he thought to himself. He decided to wait a little more to see. After another month the pigeon still had no results. As he looked over the eagle’s plant turned out to be a tree. Angry about the result of his plant he came up with an idea. “I could remove my seed from this dark and humid side and take it to the eagle’s side and grow it there!” he said. He dug up the seed and walked over to the eagles’s side of the earth. “Yo, eagle, my plant hasn’t grown at all so would you mind if I grew it here?” The eagle looked at the pigeon and was suspicious but agreed to this. The pigeon dug a hole and went back to his side of the earth. The pigeon decided to wait one year to return knowing it would be grown. He walked over to the other side and saw a huge tree in the air. As he walked toward it he noticed there was an even bigger tree behind that one. The eagle noticed the pigeon looking at his tree and said “I noticed you weren’t coming to take care of the tree so I took care of it for you and it seems to be at the same level as mine now.” As the eagle finished talking the tree leaves began shaking from each tree and out came different type of species. From the eagles’s tree came humans, dogs, deer, penguins, and pigs. They all were born shining gold. The pigeon’s tree had cats, lions, bears, snakes, and also humans. But these humans had horns and tails. Each animal from the pigeon’s tree was shing red. All the animals went up to each and right away began fighting each other. The eagle was shocked and tried to pull in his animals but none of them would listen. The pigeon thought this was the perfect time to be able to become the leader of a unlead world. He let his animals fight so he could win the crown. The eagle noticed the pigeon letting the animals fight and yelled “Why would you let your animals fight? This isn’t right! I let you grow your tree here to help build a better world with me!” The pigeon laughed and said “I don’t care about these animals. I only care about becoming a leader of all species!” The animals stopped fighting as they heard what the pigeon just said. The went toward the pigeon and began to trample him. The eagle shocked at what he saw knew it had to be done. He guided all the animals after that to help him make the world better for each of their liking. Explanation: The moral of the story is not to trust anyone. The eagle let the pigeon grow his tree on his side but was suspicious about it. Since he didn’t know much of him he decided to let him and that’s bad. I tried to make the birds have human nature, as most humans only care about themselves and no one else. The eagle represents how very few humans care about other people or animals and want the best for everyone. The pigeon represents many human’s instinct to look out for only themselves and want to be more and more powerful. When these two kinds of people try to work together, usually everyone just fights and it is really hard to come up with a solution. |
